Almost certainly not. Condensation drying works by the load's own retained heat, and plastic has almost none, so the tumblers come out wet on a machine in perfect order.

### Does rinse aid actually make a difference to drying?

On this kind of machine it is not optional so much as part of the mechanism. Without it water beads and stays; with it the film runs off the load and onto the tub wall where it belongs.
