# Frigidaire dishwasher leak repair

### Where it appears decides which half we open

Water in front of the toe kick, water under the neighboring cabinet and water that appears only in one part of the cycle are three different repairs, and the position tells us which. The door gasket and a detergent that has over-foamed put water at the front; a supply fitting or the drain hose clamp puts it at the back and often under the adjacent cabinet where it goes unnoticed for weeks. In an upstairs condominium that second kind is the one that gets expensive, because the first person to see it lives below.

A door that leaks at one corner is usually alignment, not the seal

Long-running leaks damage the cabinet: that gets pointed out, not hidden

Establish the timing

During fill, during wash, during drain, or only when the door is opened. Each points somewhere different.

Check the door seal and the vent

Front leaks are usually here, and a warped door or a loose latch imitates a failed seal.

Pull the machine and look at the connections

Supply fitting, drain clamp and the inlet valve body. These leak slowly and quietly for months.

Inspect the sump seal and the float

An overfilling machine leaks from wherever it can, which sends people looking in the wrong place.

Dry, run and watch the whole cycle

With a light under the machine, because a leak that appears once per cycle is not found by a five-minute test.

### The floor is wet but only sometimes. Can you find that?

Usually, and it is worth telling us which part of the cycle it happens in. A leak only during fill points at the inlet side, only during drain at the hose and its clamp, and throughout at the door or the tub.

### Could too much detergent really cause a leak?

It can, and it is more common than people expect with softened water. Foam pushes past a door seal that would hold water perfectly well, so the machine leaks with one brand and not with another.
