### The freezer is fine but the refrigerator is warm. Is that two problems?

Almost never on this layout. One evaporator feeds both compartments, so a blocked air path, a stalled fan or a defrost failure starves the fresh-food side first while the freezer carries on looking normal for days.

### How cold should it actually be?

Thirty-seven to forty in the fresh-food section and zero in the freezer, measured with a thermometer left in a glass of water overnight rather than read off the display. In this climate a cabinet that only reaches forty-four is failing, not running warm.
