Frigidaire washer not spinning and balance repair
A load that comes out soaked because the machine gave up on the spin, or a spin that walks the machine across the floor. Balance failures are the appliance protecting itself, so the useful question is why it cannot balance: the load, the level, the suspension, or on a front-loader the bearings that are on their way out.

The same order every time, so nothing is opened and nothing is charged before you have seen the figure and said yes.

01
Level the machine and check the floor
A washer on a wooden floor in an older building may be level and still unstable.
-
02
Test with a known load
Towels rather than a single duvet, because one heavy item defeats any balance system.
-
03
Check the suspension
Struts, springs and dampers on a front-loader; the suspension rods on a top-loader. Worn dampers let the drum hit its travel and abort the spin.
-
04
Listen to the bearings at speed
A rumble that rises with the spin is a bearing, and on many machines that is the conversation about whether the repair is worth it.
-
05
Verify a full spin at the end
Complete cycle at maximum speed with the machine watched, not a short test.

The current catalog carries two top-load washers and three laundry centers, and that thinness is worth saying out loud: Frigidaire's laundry line today is a fraction of its kitchen line. What we open in South Florida is mostly older — front-loaders from the years the badge sold them in volume, top-loaders in condominium closets, and stacked laundry centers in apartments where nothing else fits. The failures are the ones that come with age and with this climate: bearings, seals that never dry, pumps that meet a lint load nobody clears, and drains that back up in a shared stack.
- Nine current laundry machines in the whole catalog — two of them washers
- Most of what we service is older, and stacked centers are normal in condominiums
- Bearings, door seals, pumps and shared drains do the failing here
In more detail
About Frigidaire washer not spinning and balance repair
The machine did not give up, it was overruled
A load that comes out soaked has usually been stopped by the machine's own balance logic rather than by a failure. Once it senses the drum is loaded to one side it slows, redistributes and tries again, and if it cannot win it finishes the cycle wet rather than shaking itself across the floor. That is correct behavior, and the causes are ordinary: one heavy item, a machine standing on a floor that is not level, or shipping bolts nobody removed. What is not ordinary is the same load failing on a machine that used to manage it.

Questions about Frigidaire washer not spinning and balance repair
It only happens with towels or a comforter. Is anything actually wrong?
Probably nothing. A single dense item is the hardest case for any front-loader, and adding a second one to balance it against does more than any repair would.
It walks across the floor on spin now and it never used to. What changed?
Either the floor or the machine's suspension. Both are checked in the same visit, and on a tiled condominium floor a machine that has slowly crept out of level explains most of it.
