Frigidaire dryer moisture sensor service
Automatic cycles that stop with the load still damp, or run to the maximum every time. The sensor is two metal strips in the drum that read the resistance of wet fabric, and they get coated by fabric softener until they cannot read anything. It is a five-minute clean far more often than it is a part, which is exactly why it is worth booking rather than living with.

How this visit actually goes
The same order every time, so nothing is opened and nothing is charged before you have seen the figure and said yes.
-
01
Clean the sensor strips
Fine abrasive pad and alcohol. This alone fixes most of these calls.
-
02
Test the reading wet and dry
A meter across the strips with a damp cloth, which proves whether the sensor is being read at all.
-
03
Check the harness and the control
A sensor that reads correctly and is ignored is a wiring or a board problem.
-
04
Compare timed and automatic cycles
A machine that dries perfectly on a timed cycle has a sensing problem, not a heating one.
-
05
Advise on softener use
Because the film comes back, and knowing that is worth more than the visit.

Electric · gas · stacked centers Frigidaire dryer repair in Miami
Four dryers and three laundry centers in the current line, and every one of them vented — there is no heat-pump dryer under this badge. In South Florida the vent is most of the story: a duct that runs further than it should, through a wall into a corridor or up through a building, collecting lint at every bend. A dryer that takes two cycles to dry a load is almost never a broken dryer, and saying so before selling a part is the difference between a repair and a sale. The genuine problems, when they come, are the element or the burner, the thermostat and the cutout, the drum rollers and the belt.
- Every dryer here is vented — no heat-pump machine under this badge
- Long duct runs and lint explain more slow-drying calls than any part does
- Element or burner, cutouts, rollers and belt are the real failures

About Frigidaire dryer moisture sensor service
The bars in the drum, and what confuses them
Automatic cycles work by touching the load: two metal strips inside the drum read how wet the clothes are as they tumble past. When they stop being able to, the machine either stops with the load damp or runs to maximum every time, and the cause is often a film rather than a failure. Fabric softener and dryer sheets leave a residue on the bars that insulates them, and in hard-water territory so does detergent carried over from the wash. Cleaning them is sometimes the whole repair.

Questions about Frigidaire dryer moisture sensor service
Can I clean the sensor bars myself?
Yes, and it is worth trying before booking anything. Rubbing alcohol on a cloth, both strips, with the machine unplugged — if the automatic cycles come back, you have found it.
Should I just use the timed cycles instead?
It works, and it costs you the thing the sensor was for. A timed cycle overdries the light loads and underdries the heavy ones, and overdrying is what wears clothes out.
