Frigidaire ice maker repair
The module inside the refrigerator: no ice, hollow cubes, a bin frozen into one block, or a dispenser that grinds and delivers nothing. Half of these calls end on the water side rather than in the ice maker itself, which is why the first questions are about the filter and the dispenser rather than about the module.

01
Ask what the water dispenser does
Water at the dispenser but no ice separates the ice side of the valve from the supply in one question.
-
02
Check the fill tube
It freezes closed more often than anything else in this circuit, and thawing it is not a repair until the reason it froze is found.
-
03
Test the module through a harvest
Forced cycle where the design allows: fill, freeze, eject. Watching one cycle tells you more than any resistance reading.
-
04
Measure the compartment
An ice maker in a freezer that is only just cold enough produces slowly and refreezes what it makes. That is a refrigeration problem presenting as an ice one.
-
05
Check the dispenser side
Auger, flap and chute. A grinding dispenser with a full bin is usually a jam rather than a motor.

In the refrigerator · in the freezer door Frigidaire ice maker repair in Miami
This page is about the ice maker inside the refrigerator, because that is where Frigidaire puts them. The catalog has no undercounter ice cabinet at all — the standalone machines are three countertop appliances, and they have their own page. What we are called out for here is the module in a French door or side-by-side cabinet: no ice, hollow or half-formed cubes, a bin that has frozen into one block, or a dispenser that grinds and delivers nothing. The water side of that circuit — filter, valve, line — causes more of it than the module itself.

Top freezer · French door · side by side Frigidaire refrigerator repair in Miami
The deepest branch of this catalog by a distance: 142 cabinets, and the largest single family in everything Frigidaire currently sells is the plain top-freezer refrigerator — 55 of them. That number is the brand in one line. This is the refrigerator that came with the apartment, and half our calls are for a cabinet nobody chose. French door adds 44 and side-by-side 31, which is where the ice and water go wrong, and the two-cabinet compact and bottom-freezer families are small enough to name individually. In this climate the work concentrates on defrost, on door seals that never fully dry, and on condensers that live in salt air.
- 142 cabinets across five layouts — top freezer is the biggest family in the catalog
- French door and side-by-side bring the ice and water circuits most calls are about
- Defrost, seals and condensers do most of the failing in South Florida

About Frigidaire ice maker repair
It is a small machine bolted inside a large one
That is the useful way to think about the module in the freezer, because it explains why the trouble is so often somewhere else. The unit needs a fill of water, a compartment cold enough to make the mold let go, and a shut-off arm or sensor that believes the bin is not full. Any of the three can stop it while the refrigerator itself looks perfectly healthy. Hollow cubes and a bin frozen into one slab are two different failures, and each names its own half of that list.

Questions about Frigidaire ice maker repair
No ice at all, but the refrigerator is cold. Where do you start?
With whether water is arriving. A fill valve that has stopped opening, a line frozen at the back of the cabinet or a shut-off arm knocked up by a box of frozen food all give exactly the same nothing, and they cost very different amounts to fix.
The cubes are hollow or half-size. Is the maker failing?
Usually not. Hollow cubes mean the mold got less water than it asked for, which puts the problem on the fill valve or the supply pressure, not on the module doing the freezing.
